The Grainger County Board of Education policy requires that all medication be kept
in the nurse’s office and must be accompanied by a written order from the health care
provider and/or written permission from the parent or guardian, including prescription and
nonprescription medications.
All medications, both prescription and/or over-the-counter, must be delivered to the
principal’s office by the student’s parent/guardian in the original container. Any alternate means
of delivery requires prior notification by student’s parent/guardian for approval by the principal.
All medication that is not picked up at the end of the school year will be destroyed.
